What is Bare Biology Vim & Vigour Vegan Omega-3 & Astaxanthin?

Bare Biology Vim & Vigour Vegan Omega-3 & Astaxanthin is a powerful omega-3 that contains added astaxanthin. This comprehensive formula caters to your omega-3 requirements by incorporating both vital EPA and DHA, all sourced from sustainable algae and independently certified for purity and freshness.

Just two daily capsules, which are easy to swallow, are packed with 500mg of DHA, 250mg of EPA (the two most important omega-3s) and 4mg of astaxanthin.

For plant-powered wellbeing. Omega-3s are typically difficult to find in plant based diets, and astaxanthin is one of the main reasons that people buy krill oil supplements. Astaxanthin is the main reason people buy krill oil supplements. It’s a carotenoid which gives salmon and shellfish their pink colour. It’s great to eat the rainbow and now you can get your ‘pink’ food from this sustainably sourced algae.

This is an indispensable addition to plant-based nutrition, supporting heart, brain and eye health.

Benefits of Bare Biology Vim & Vigour Vegan Omega-3 & Astaxanthin:

  • Sustainably grown algae: We only use sustainably sourced algae in our vegan omega 3 supplements. For the omega 3 we use schizochytrium sp.algae. And for the astaxanthin we use schizochytrium algae.
  • IFOS 5 Star Certified Purity: Every batch is independently tested on top of the tests we carry out. Your guarantee the capsules are pure, fresh and safe. Our results are published below.
  • Suitable for Vegans & Vegetarians: Vim & Vigour algae supplements do not contain any fish oils or animal derived ingredients. All the nutrients come from sustainably grown algae. The capsules are made of GMO-free corn starch, glycerol BP, carrageenan (from red seaweed) and sodium carbonate anhydrous.
  • Flavourless capsules with zero after-taste.
  • These capsules are gentle on the tummy and can be taken at any time of the day.

Directions of use of Bare Biology Vim & Vigour Vegan Omega-3 & Astaxanthin:

How much to take: 2 capsules a day. Do not take more than 4 a day.

Who it’s for: Over 18s. Not suitable for children and pregnancy due to limited trials of astaxanthin in these groups.

A bit more about carrageenan:

It’s a red seaweed which has been sustainably cultivated since the 1960s and requires minimal processing.  The one Bare Biology use is from the USA.  It replaces animal-based products. It has been used as a thickener for centuries and processing is mild.

It has previously been mistaken for poligeenan, aka ‘degraded carrageenan’, which is used in medical imaging applications and is considered a carcinogen. Poligeenan is not a food additive. Poligeenan and carrageenan are two separate compounds with different chemical properties and molecular weight. Carrageenan does not degrade into, or turn into, poligeenan during digestion because the necessary conditions (temperature and pH) do not exist in the human digestive tract.

Why Omega-3 Fatty Acids are Important

    What is Omega-3?

Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid. Your body cannot produce them on its own and so people typically obtain it through either diet or supplements. They play a crucial role in the body and are beneficial for health. There are three main types of omega-3 fatty acids1:

    1. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA): This plant-based omega-3 is found in foods like flaxseeds, chia seeds, walnuts, and soybeans. ALA is a precursor to the other omega-3 fatty acids, meaning your body can convert small amounts of ALA into EPA and DHA, although the conversion process is not very efficient.
    2. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA): This type is mainly found in fish and other seafood. EPA is known for its anti-inflammatory effects and can contribute to the health of your heart and joints.
    3. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA): Also primarily found in fish and seafood, DHA is important for brain and eye health, especially during the early stages of life.
