Flavonoids are nutrients found in colorful fruits and plants beneficial to human health. Quercetin contributes to the brilliant rich golden color of the Dimorphandra mollis plant, which supplies flavonoid extracted from the seed pods. Bromelain's proteolytic properties help break down protein which helps support digestion. Bromelain is a naturally occurring enzyme from pineapple stems that helps increase the bioavailability and positive benefits of the flavonoid quercetin, supporting a sustained immune response.

I was happy with this product until I was well into my second bottle, and I noticed a cough that I had not had before. It was getting worse. I was not
... sick, so I thought it must be an allergy, but I wasn't doing anything differently, except take Quercetin with Bromelain. I read up on Bromelin and discovered that if you are allergic to ragweed or pollen, which I am, you might have an allergic reaction.
I found this on Mayo Clinic: Allergies: People with other allergies might also be allergic to bromelain. Use cautiously if you are allergic to pineapple, latex, ragweed, Echinacea, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, wheat, celery, papain, carrot, fennel, cypress pollen, grass pollen, or other plants.
Upshot - I will take my Quercetin without Bromelain.

Brain storm
Just recently I've discovered that if I take one or two of these as soon as I feel (or suspect) a headache, it seems to stop the headache complet
...ely. I do get dry mouth and sometimes urinate a little more than usual as quercetin appears to be a diuretic. Quercetin is also a vasodilator (relaxes or "dilates" blood vessels) as it seems to increase nitric oxide in the blood. Vasodilators are generally considered the cause of migraines, so it seems odd that one vasodilator (peppers) will cause me a headache and another one (quercetin) will take it away. Likely the real mechanisms involved here are more complicated than that. I am pleased though to find that quercetin has this affect as Advil seems to be causing me ulcer-like symptoms (nausea, bloating, acid reflux), even at doses as small as (2) pills every five to seven days.
