What is Selenium?
Selenium is an important trace mineral in the body, acting as a key antioxidant working alongside vitamins C and E. It is also necessary for the healthy function of the thyroid which helps to regulate body temperature and metabolic rate.
Selenium is a very important antioxidant mineral in your body as it helps protect cells from oxidative stress. It is needed to make the body’s main antioxidant enzyme, glutathione peroxidise which particularly works in the liver.
