It can be quite difficult to make sure that your diet provides all the vitamin D your body requires, the most common food sources are oily fish, liver, and eggs. However, your body can manufacture Vitamin D when your skin is exposed to the sun’s UV rays. For this reason, Vitamin D is often referred to as ‘The Sunshine Vitamin’. In the UK, it is often recommended that we ‘top-up’ with Vitamin D, especially throughout the winter months, when the sun does not produce the UV rays required to trigger our bodies to manufacture Vitamin D.
