What are Solaray High Potency Betaine HCI & Pepsin 650mg Capsules good for?
Solaray High Potency Betaine HCI & Pepsin 650mg Capsules are designed to support healthy digestion, particularly for those who may struggle with low stomach acid levels. I've been prescribed acid reducers which did not help. Now I take 4 or 5 of the Betaine HCL capsules every meal and it reduces my reflux symptoms
... about 80%. Going to try longer and hope for the best! Reflux may be due to low stomach acid not high! It's called hypochlorhydria! God bless fam!

People be taking Tums and Rolaids and they actually need the opposite they need more stomach acid is very sad they don’t know. My husband was put on
... three prescriptions one including an inhaler for high stomach acid because of the coughing and I am pretty hippie dippy, and I kept telling him that is not going to help, but only make things worse. Low and behold, he is no longer coughing, when I added Lung Cleanse in the morning, and two in the evening, before bed ... along with four “HCl with pepsin”tablets , each day.

I had GERD for over 10 years. It was the side effect of a medication I was on. My internist mistakenly thought my stomach acid was too high and put me
... on proton pump inhibitors. Which pretty much guaranteed that I would have GERD forever.
Luckily I have a new doctor. She correctly diagnosed me with low stomach acid, not high stomach acid.

The number of capsules to take depends on how deficient your stomach acid is. Since I follow a high fat, moderate protein and low cab diet I normally
...take from three to five capsules with each meal. To determine the ideal dose you you, start with one capsule after a meal, and if you do not experience any stomach irritation, continue to slowly add capsules until you do get a bloated or burning sensation. When that occurs, back off one capsule and that would be your routine dosage. For smaller meals, take fewer capsules. HCL also works for those suffering from acid reflux. When stomach acid is low but above pH 2.5, the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) that normally keeps acid out of the esophagus, doesn't close properly, allowing some acid to get into the esophagus and casue the burning sensation. Taking supplemental acid lowers the pH below 2.5 and allows the LES to shut properly.

Well, I have had stomach issues for most of my life and have been off and on Omeprazole and pantoprazole. This year I had an endoscopy done because I
...had pain in my esophagus while swallowing food. They found some irritation (rings and furrows). Biopsy showed nothing really and the doctor told me to stay on pantoprazole long term. Well I try to find solutions to prescription medication through healthy alternatives. Anyways long story short I have taken 2 of these capsules, 1 with each meal and I can say I have way less pain while swallowing! I hope it keeps getting better the more I use them. Time will tell and I will update at a later time how they work for me.

So first I tried one of these capsules with every meal , things improved but the problems didn't go away. Then my doctor said double it up. That
...did the trick. In less than a week, the results were obvious. My GERD was greatly improved. My gas went away, along with bloating, and the gut cramps. Within six weeks, I was able to try skipping the HCl and the digestive enzymes, without experiencing relapse.
