Symprove is a probiotic formula which helps to improve and maintain a healthy gut bacteria balance. This water-based multi-strain supplement that contains 4 unique strains of live activated bacteria;
Acticaseibacillus rhamnosus.
Enterococcus faecium.
Lactobacillus acidophilus.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum.
Normally a healthy gut would already contain all four of these live strains of bacteria, however when it doesn't, it can soon become unbalanced.

This probiotic formula is head and shoulders above all other premium probiotics I've tried. It is DEFINITELY worth the slightly higher price tag.
... I haven't had noticeable impriovements from other brands for years and had almost given up on probiotics as a viable treatment for multiple gut promblems. Try it. If your problem is related to your gut flora, you will not be disappointed.

Certainly felt it helped me get a gut balance back again after an ileostomy reversal. Tried other products first but this one is one of the few that g
...ets the bugs to the right place as many don’t make it through to the end so to speak! Used the full 12 week course benefitting from the free final 4 packs, it is expensive but in many ways a small price to pay, and I should have used it sooner. I found the taste of the oringinal just fine, no bad effects, only good ones.

I was forced to take early retirement a year ago due to Chronic fatigue Syndrome (and IBS which is one of the symptoms)and was feeling pretty low when
... I started the course, Unable to get out of bed until 11:00am or later with no energy with very poor concentration. Within a week of starting on Symprove, I started to feel better. My IBS, Fatigue and concentration levels all started to slowly improve day by day. I am now 6 weeks into the course and am feeling really well. I now find it difficult to lie in bed much later than 08:00 and have energy all through the day. For me it seems to be working brilliantly and I am really hoping the improvements are sustained when I finish the course, It is quite expensive but I certainly worked for me more than any other things I tried and I would recommend anyone suffering from CFS gives it a go.

I have tried a lot of things in my pursuit of an IBS-freer life, but only Symprove has ever done anything for me.
Combined with a better lifestyle
...and combatting other factors like stress, this product has improved my life immensely! Only thing preventing a 5* review is the price - you're certainly making a commitment to this product!
I drank this as recommended, once every morning 1ml per 1kg of body weight, kept in the fridge once opened, shaken before every dose and continued over 6 months (what Symprove recommend to allow the stuff to actually persist, sort of like antibiotics).
Whether a clever marketing ploy or not, it still worked for me. Give it a shot!

I had an operation in 2008 and have suffered with abdomen pain ever since. I read an article about this product and thought it may be a help to me. I
...managed to drink about half of 1 bottle of the four bottles that I bought before I started to feel much worse. As a result I have 4 and a half bottles left which I shall not be using.

I had really bad IBS for a very long time, years. It affected my quality of life, my day to day activities, it made me miserable. I took symprove for
...the 3 month course and finished it at the end of September, around 8 months ago. I have to say I have been completely normal ever since. It was a gradual improvement but by the end of the 3 month course I felt 100% and still do. I was worried that I would need a maintenance dose as it is not cheap but that's not the case. I really recommend it

Yes it does taste a little unpleasant- but I got used to it fairly quickly, despite being rather fussy (tip- if you're having problems drinking i
...t to start with, try taking spoonfuls instead, like taking medicine. Had to do this for a while but can now drink it down no problem)
Yes it is rather expensive.
However, I can honestly say that Symprove has changed my life. IBS now completely under control- I cannot tell you what a relief it is not to be in pain, or in fear of pain, any longer

I was recently introduced to this at a health fair.
I get bloaty/crampy IBS that can at times be horribly debilitating not to mention incredibly pa
...inful. I've done quite a bit of reading into probiotics to try and support/improve my symptoms - there's a vast choice and mixed reviews as to effectiveness.
The plus points of this:
live bacterial strains - the claim is "quicker activation" than freeze-dried counterparts
easy to take form that ensures maximum bacterial transit to the intestinal tract
doesn't contain anything to stimulate digestion - again, this backs the assertion that it then allows more of the bacteria to reach beyond the stomach - all those yoghurt based ones will get attacked by your stomach acid dealing with the protein.
clinical trial results to back their claims run by a reputable hospital in London (there are few enough of those, and it does help to take some of the "guess work" out of effectiveness - although I'm a great believer in using placebo effect too, after all a placebo is a powerful thing with few side-effects!)
The points raised by other reviews:
Taste - personally I like the taste, it's really grown on me... and if you don't like it you can dilute with water really easily! It's a bit sour/vinegary. But if you've ever taken neat cider vinegar, this is frankly sweet nectar! There is also a flavoured fruity version (too sweet for my taste) and they're bringing out an apple/cinnamon variety in the new year.
Expensive - yes it is (but so is any really good quality probiotic - and generally you get what you pay for). Also, I judge it in context of what price a comfortable/less stressed out gut has on my life and what I'm willing to shell out for that. It works out at less than £2 per day if you buy as a 4-pack and take the 50ml dose. That's less than the price of a fluffy coffee from a well-known tax-dodging coffee shop! on balance, I'd rather have this.
the other thing, being liquid form - it's relatively bulky compared to tablet forms. I don't mind, it's well packaged and I'm not globe-trotting! There's also the advantage of it not having to have weird fillers and preservatives which many pill forms have.
So has it worked for me?
I have definitely had improvement in my condition, and a much more stable gut = less stressed unhappy me. I'm all for that. No I haven't had a complete cure, but then I didn't expect one - the gut is complex and relies on good consistent diet practices too, which due to work/stress/hours is rather disrupted at the moment. Indeed, in light of that I believe that the Symprove has had a marked supportive effect for me and I'm happy with the product.
I'm about 55 days in, I've said I'll give it the recommended full 90 days before I decide whether I remain on it or cut it out (hence the 4 stars, as thus far, thus good, but I will try to remember to update after the full 3 months!). An expensive experiment? Perhaps, but I consider it worth while if it gives me a better quality of life as a result.
It's horses for courses - there's no guarantee that it will be a silver bullet for you, but not every treatment works for every person in every situation. I also recommend phoning Symprove and having a chat to one of their staff - they're really friendly/helpful and may be able to give more tailored advice for your particular condition.
